There are a number of closures for New Year’s Day.

Federal, state, county and city government offices are closed. No regular mail will be delivered. Banks and credit unions are closed. The stock market will not be open. Professional offices are closed. Most retail stores are open, with only a few closed. Schools remain on winter break.
