SHERIFF’S OFFICE INCREASES DUII PATROLS FOR HOLIDAYS

December 21, 3:30 a.m.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has increased the number of deputies on patrol this holiday season, in an effort to crackdown on intoxicated drivers.

Sergeant Brad O’Dell said the effort is part of the Oregon DUII/High Visibility Enforcement grants program, funded by the Oregon Department of Transportation. O’Dell said the effort is designed to increase the number of law enforcement officers on patrol for a two-week period, to actively seek out impaired drivers.

The HVE will continue through January 2nd.
