29 counties in Oregon are at extreme risk for COVID-19 under an update released by Governor Kate Brown on Tuesday.
That includes Douglas County.
Brown said the state’s new public health framework to reduce transmission and protect residents from COVID-19 uses four different risk levels for counties based on COVID-19 spread – extreme risk, high risk, moderate risk and lower risk. Health and safety measures are assigned to each level. Information about those measures is posted with our story at www.541radio.com
The update is effective Friday and continues through December 31st. Six counties were added to the extreme risk category. Only one county is at moderate risk while six counties are at lower risk. There are no counties listed in the high-risk category. A complete list of counties and their associated risk levels are posted with this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LHVZKjFZE8Vw6sm3ih_C3WfGHc1CD_Ct/view
The Oregon Health Authority will examine and publish county data weekly. County risk levels will be reassigned every two weeks. The next assignment of risk levels will take place on January 1st.
