Umpqua Valley Arts in Roseburg has announced the cancelation of a popular holiday event.

UVA officials say they are “sad to announce that our treasured annual event, Handmade Holiday, will not take place this year.”

Organizers say that while they tried to explore options to continue the holiday tradition of hosting the pop-up shop with goods for sale from local makers, they determined that it just wasn’t possible this year due to current COVID-19 guidelines.

The UVA is asking residents to reach out to local artists and crafters and support local makers as holiday shopping continues ahead of the Christmas holiday.

UVA posted a list of the artists who were set to feature their work in this year’s Handmade Holiday, at the UVA Facebook page, and said staff would be happy to help anyone connect with the artists for their own holiday shopping needs.
