A Roseburg man was jailed after an alleged strangulation incident on Wednesday night.

A report from Roseburg Police said just after 5:00 p.m. a man and a woman were struggling over the possession of a minor, when Stephen Silva-Horta reportedly struck the victim in the throat and temporarily made her gag and cough.

Silva-Horta was charged with strangulation, harassment and for second degree disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $55,000.
