The Oregon State Parks annual parking permit is $5 off in the month of December.
A release from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department said holiday shoppers can buy permits for only $25 each, down from the regular $30 price.
OPRD Director Lisa Sumption said this is the only time the department discounts the annual pass. Residents can buy passes by going to: https://store.oregonstateparks.org/. Permits are also sold at some state park friend’s group stores, and at selected businesses around the state. For a complete list of vendors, go to the same web link. Permits are transferable from vehicle to vehicle.
The release said OPRD is funded by camping and day-use fees, the Oregon Lottery, and a portion of recreational vehicle registrations. Department revenues have fallen during the COVID-19 pandemic. Those who want to donate along with making a permit purchase, can do so on the same link.
