COMMERCIAL VEHICLE CRASHES ALONG INTERSTATE FIVE

A commercial vehicle crashed along Interstate Five Monday morning.

A report from Oregon State Police said just after 8:00 a.m. troopers were dispatched to the single vehicle wreck at the Clarks Branch northbound exit. The driver said he had pulled off the road and stopped. The driver said he set the break and went to his sleeper birth, when he felt the truck starting to roll forward on its own. The driver said he tried to stop the rig from rolling but it was too late. The vehicle hit a tree causing heavy front-end damage. It also hit an Oregon Department of Transportation sign, breaking it off at the base.

The driver was not injured.
