COUNTY CHRISTMAS TREE TO ARRIVE ON TUESDAY

November 19, 2020 10:45 a.m.

Douglas County Commissioners have announced that this year’s tree for the courthouse, will arrive next Tuesday.

A release said a “live” tree will be planted this year on the front lawn of the courthouse. It will grow and serve as the Christmas tree for many years to come. Once the 30-foot tall tree is planted, crews will work on adding lights and additional displays to the front lawn. The release said the lights on the tree will remain dark until the weekend of November 28th and 29th.

Commissioners, the City of Roseburg, and the Roseburg Town Center/Downtown Roseburg Association will simultaneously broadcast a pre-recorded virtual tree lighting program on Sunday the 29th at 6:00 p.m. on their respective Facebook pages.

Some traffic congestion is expected in the downtown area on Tuesday around the time the Christmas tree arrives.
