A Roseburg man convicted of sexually abusing children, has died in prison.
The Oregon Department of Corrections has reported that 80-year old Leo Barton passed away Wednesday. He was incarcerated at Snake River Correctional Institution in Ontario. A Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
Barton entered DOC custody on October 30, 2018 from Douglas County. He was convicted of first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, first-degree sodomy and five counts of first-degree sex abuse on October 5th of that year, according to the News Review. He had been sentenced to 56 years in prison.
