A staff member at Melrose Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19.

Superintendent Jared Cordon of Roseburg Public Schools said the district is working closely with the Douglas Public Health Network to respond to the news and protect the health of the school community.

Cordon said the individual who tested positive had already been in quarantine due to a potential exposure unrelated to the school and will remain in quarantine following guidance from DPHN. No students or staff were in contact with this individual and no additional quarantine measures are required at this time.
