ARCHIE CREEK FIRE 100 PERCENT CONTAINED

Staff with the Roseburg District of the Bureau of Land Management and the Umpqua National Forest have declared that the Archie Creek Fire is 100 percent contained.

The Thielsen Fire was been declared as controlled by the UNF as well.

Cheyne Rossbach of the BLM said with the recent change in weather conditions, fire officials with the UNF officially ended fire season on Monday. That means Industrial Fire Precautions have been lifted on the forest.

Rossbach said during the last several weeks, the area received widespread precipitation which has moderated conditions enough to drop the fire danger to a low status. He said people are still encouraged to completely extinguish their campfires before they leave a site.

Some closures remain in place for areas affected by the Archie Creek Fire. Rossbach said it is important that the public follows the closure orders and remains outside of burned sites and locations where hazards remain from the fire.
