A Roseburg area woman was jailed after allegedly biting a dog on Wednesday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just after 9:00 a.m. a deputy was sent to a disturbance in the 3000 block of Joseph Street, just north of Roseburg. A neighbor reported that a woman was chasing vehicles and causing the disturbance. The report said a man was observed running towards a camper. Screaming was heard from inside it. When the deputy got into the camper, he allegedly saw 41-year old Andrea Kytola with a black retriever in a hold while she was biting its ear.

After getting the woman away from the dog, the deputy tried to place Kytola in handcuffs but she initially resisted. She was eventually taken into custody and was lodged after being medically cleared.

Charges include second degree counts of animal abuse and disorderly conduct and for resisting arrest. Bail was set at $11,250.
