The Federal Emergency Management Agency External Outreach Site in Glide remains open through Saturday. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Nate Custer of FEMA said staff can help survivors of the wildfires as they seek information about their applications, ask questions and have their documents scanned into a case file. Survivors have until next Monday to apply for FEMA assistance.
Custer said the deadline to apply for Disaster Unemployment Assistance is Friday November 27th. Employees in Douglas and 7 other counties may be eligible for benefits if their work was substantially impacted by the wildfires or straight-line winds that have taken place since September.
