One student at Myrtle Creek Elementary has tested positive for COVID-19.

A release from Superintendent Kate McLaughlin issued Friday said the district is working closely with the Douglas Public Health Network to respond to the news.

McLaughlin said as soon as the district was contacted, the process began to notify staff and parents of the children in the cohort that a student tested positive, asking them to quarantine for 14 days and monitor for symptoms. Quarantine guidance was provided and parents were informed that someone from DPHN would be in daily phone contact to provide additional monitoring
