That proclamation was presented to Larry Hill, President of the Douglas County Veterans Forum, Carol Hunt, co-chair of the parade committee, and Jerry Anderson, representing the Veterans Advisory Committee.

A release from the Board said despite COVID-19, organizers knew the parade must go on so they came up with the idea of a reverse parade where the floats are stationary, while spectators are the ones driving by in vehicles. The parade was moved to the fairgrounds, in order to provide proper social distancing for the staging of parade entries.

Grand Marshals will feature military doctors and nurses with the theme, “Embrace the past, Engage the present”. The local parade was one of only two Veterans Day parades in Oregon that was not cancelled due to the pandemic.
