A Riddle man was jailed on drug and forgery charges on Monday.

A report from Myrtle Creek Police said at about 1:15 p.m. an officer contacted 28-year old Joshua Girard near the corner of Seeley and D. Lee Lane. The report said the officer knew there was a warrant out for the man’s arrest. The suspect was allegedly seen tossing a black bag behind a car when he was contacted. Girard was charged with unlawful possession of heroin and methamphetamine and for tampering with physical evidence, and was taken into custody.

On Monday evening, Roseburg Police added additional charges. An RPD report said on July 28th two people deposited and cashed altered checks totaling over $1,000 into an ATM using Girard’s bank account. The report said some of the money was received through the ATM and the suspect later allegedly went inside the branch and received $1,000 cash from a teller.  Charges included first degree counts of forgery and theft and for computer crime.

Girard was also held for a probation violation and was detained without bail.
