The American Red Cross still has an urgent need for blood donations to prevent another blood shortage.

Those who are healthy, feeling well and eligible to give blood or platelets, are urged to donate. Appointments are required and can be made by going to www.redcrossblood.org or by calling 800-733-2767. Blood drives this week include:

*Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Red Cross Blood Donation Center on Garden Valley Boulevard

*Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Milo Academy in Days Creek

*Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Sutherlin Community Center on Willamette Street

*Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Red Cross Blood Donation Center
