A 30-year old Oakland man has been jailed for online sex crime charges.
Detective Kevin Taggart of the Myrtle Creek Police said on September 27th, the department began an investigation into an online conversation between Nicholas Shorb and a juvenile female. Taggart said during that conversation, the man said he was 26-years old. Shorb and the juvenile made an agreement to meet at an undisclosed location for sex. At about 2:00 a.m. Friday morning, the suspect arrived at the agreed upon meeting place and was taken into custody without incident.
Taggart said Shorb was charged with first and second degree counts of online sexual corruption of a child. Bail was set at $150,000.
No further information in this case will be released as the investigation is ongoing.
