A student at Coffenberry Middle School in Myrtle Creek has tested positive for COVID-19.
South Umpqua School District Superintendent Kate McLaughlin told News Radio 1240 KQEN that the student was not in school while contagious, so no staff or students have been required to quarantine. She said the district continues to work closely with the Douglas Public Health Network, while also implementing protocols to keep students and staff safe. McLaughlin said the district is, “…grateful to our students and parents for staying home when sick, so we can keep our schools open and prevent the spread of the virus”.
