The American Red Cross still has an urgent need for blood donations to prevent another blood shortage.

Those who are healthy, feeling well and eligible to give blood or platelets are urged to make a donation as soon as possible. Blood drives this week include:

*Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Glide Rural Fire Protection District on North Umpqua Highway

*Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Winston Community Center on Grape Avenue

*Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Roseburg Public Safety Center on Southeast Douglas

Appointments are required and can be scheduled by going to www.redcrossblood.org or by calling 800-733-2767. Additional blood drives are already being scheduled for November.
