Staff with the City of Roseburg are now accepting applications from local non-profits to receive Coronavirus Relief Funds.
A release said grant funds are limited, and applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, with the first review happening next Monday, October 26th. Non-profit agencies can apply by going to www.cityofroseburg.org, or by calling 492-6866.
Funding for these grants are made possible via the State of Oregon’s allocation of federal CARES Act funding. City Manager Nikki Messenger said “The City appreciates the work that non-profits have done during this pandemic to provide assistance to City residents and businesses and hopes to support and augment these efforts”. She said non-profits that have been impacted by COVID-19 should consider applying for a grant. Messenger said there is a short timeline, and staff hopes to distribute the funds to a variety of organizations.
To quality, applicants must be a non-profit that provides services related to the COVID-19 pandemic to residents or businesses within the City. Grant funds may be used for these purposes:
*Mortgage and/or rent assistance
*Utility assistance
*Food assistance
*Assistance to the unhoused population
*Facilitation of distance learning
*Provision of other social services that have been impacted by COVID-19.
