The Douglas County Tax Collection Office is starting to mail property tax statements for the 2020-2021 property tax year, this week.
A release from the office said property taxes are due November 16th.
In order to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 this year, the Tax Collection Office will be closed to the public from now through November 27th. The office will continue to provide service to customers remotely. Business can be conducted with the office via phone, email or online.
This year the options for paying property tax are:
*Mail payment in the envelope provided for the quickest processing. Payment can be made by cashier’s check, money order or personal check
*Place payment in one of the department’s drop boxes. They are located in front of the Douglas County Courthouse or in the hallway outside the Tax Collection office.
*Pay online with no fees by going to: www.co.douglas.or.us/finance/taxpayments.asp.
*To receive the 3 percent discount, payment in full must be received or post marked before November 16th. To avoid interest and penalties, the first trimester payment must be made by the same date.
Tax payments should be sent in early so they are received or post marked in time to meet the deadline.
