The American Red Cross still has an urgent need for blood donations to prevent another blood shortage. Those who are healthy, and eligible to give blood or platelets, are urged to make an appointment as soon as possible. Appointments are required in advance and can be made by going to www.redcrossblood.org or by calling 800-733-2767.

Blood drives this week include:

*Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Coastal Farm and Ranch on Garden Valley Boulevard

*Monday from 1:00 pm. to 6:30 p.m. at the Red Cross Blood Donation Center on Garden Valley Boulevard.

*Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Mobile Tune on Southeast Rose

*Friday from 9:00 am. to 3:00 p.m. at the Red Cross Blood Donation Center

Other blood drives are scheduled in the coming weeks as well.
