SECOND HIGHEST DAILY CASE COUNT FOR COVID-19 IN COUNTY

Douglas County had the second highest daily case count for COVID-19 since the pandemic began, as reported on Wednesday.

An update from the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team said 9 more people have received positive test results and there is 1 new presumptive case.

The highest daily case count occurred with the report of a workplace outbreak of 20 cases, on July 23rd. The first case of COVID-19 in the county was reported on March 8th.

The update said the total number of cases is now at 300. The county had 200 cases on September 17th, just under four weeks ago. Of the total cases, 267 are people that have received positive test results and 33 are presumptive. There have been 4 deaths. 4 people are currently hospitalized for COVID-19 locally. 40 people are in isolation with 152 in quarantine. Isolation is recommended for confirmed and presumptive cases while quarantine is recommended for contacts of confirmed or presumptive cases. 14,361 people have tested negative for COVID-19 in the county.

The next drive through testing clinic with the Douglas Public Health Network will be Friday in Roseburg.
