A Roseburg man was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle wreck on Monday.

A report from the Roseburg Police said at 11:00 a.m. the 26-year old was traveling east on Oak Street as he approached the intersection with Pine. The report said a second vehicle was headed south on Pine Street. The first driver said he dropped his lighter and reached down under the seat to retrieve it. When he looked up, he saw that his light was red, but it was too late to stop.

The report said the first vehicle, a small sedan, ran into the passenger side of the second vehicle, which was a full-sized truck. The first driver and his passenger were uninjured, but the second driver, a 61-year old man, complained of neck and back pain. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center for evaluation where he was treated and released.

The driver that caused the wreck was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
