Greater Douglas United Way has disbursed $125,000 from the Fire Relief Fund to four local organizations providing vital services to those impacted by the wildfires.
Executive Director Bryan Trenkle said the distribution included:
*$55,000 to Glide Revitalization
*$35,000 to the Red Cross
*$25,000 to Glide Helping Hands
*10,000 to the Roseburg Salvation Army
A release said the fund was established to help the local community with urgent needs as a result of the recent wildfires which have devastated the community. Trenkle said 100 percent of all funds will stay local and will provide support to community organizations. So far over $195,000 has been raised and with this disbursement, $170,000 has been given back out to the community.
Trenkle said recent contributions to the fund have included:
*$10,000 from Pacific Source
*$5,000 each from Redeemer’s Fellowship, Oregon Community Foundation and Umpqua Health
