ARCHIE CREEK FIRE CONTINUES IN MOP UP MODE

October 9, 2020 10:00 a.m.

The Archie Creek Fire continues in mop up mode, east of Glide.

The update from Northwest Incident Management Team 12 said patrol and suppression repair is happening as well. Crews also conducted hazard-tree mitigation, particularly in the southeast area of the fire. A flare-up occurred near Zig Zag Creek, and helicopters dropped water on the area.

The update said backhaul has begun in some divisions, which entails removing supplies and equipment from the fire line. That equipment which was put in place for holding the fire line, was taken back to camp, repacked and sent out to other fires. The Burned Area Emergency Response team continues assessment of post-wildfire environmental conditions. Smoke will continue to be visible from the fire area.

The Archie Creek Fire is still 94 percent contained, in over 131,500 acres.
