October 8, 2020 10:20 a.m.

Mop up continues on the Archie Creek Fire east of Glide.

An update from Northwest Incident Management Team 12 said patrol and suppression repair is still happening as well. Crews also conducted hazard tree mitigation, particularly in the southeast area of the fire. The Burned Area Emergency Response Team is assessing post-wildfire environmental conditions. The update said emergency actions may be identified to mitigate unacceptable degradation of natural and cultural resources or to minimize threats to life and property resulting from the effects of the fire.

Roseburg Forest Products will be blasting on Roseburg Resources Company property to the west of Rock Creek.

324 people are assigned to the fire, which remains 94 percent contained in over 131,500 acres.

The Thielsen Fire is still 71 percent contained in just under 10,000 acres.
