DFPA REMAINS ENGAGED ON ARCHIE CREEK FIRE

October 7, 2020 10:30 a.m.

Crews with the Douglas Forest Protective Association remain engaged on all private, county and state lands within the footprint of the Archie Creek Fire.

Fire Prevention Officer Kyle Reed said DFPA has 48 people assigned to the fire, including six engines, a bull dozer, a 20-person hand crew and various overhead and support personnel. Reed said their primary mission is monitoring and controlling containment lines, back hauling supplies and equipment that is no longer needed on the fire lines and completing necessary fire suppression repair projects on those lands.

Smoke from the interior of the fire may remain visible until the fall rains return to the area. Public access closures remain in place on all public lands and private industrial lands within the footprint of the Archie Creek Fire.
