The Douglas County Republican Party is offering a reward after the fifth vandalism incident at their headquarters this year.

Party Chair Valynn Currie told News Radio 1240 KQEN she was contacted by Roseburg Police Tuesday morning at 7:00 a.m. Sometime between Monday evening and early Tuesday, eight windows were smashed at the party office on Southeast Jackson in downtown. Currie told KQEN “we’re tired” and said the ongoing problem is very disappointing.

The damage this year has cost around $10,000. Currie said that doesn’t count the cost of getting more surveillance cameras. Ironically, additional cameras are expected to arrive later this week. During a tense political year, Currie said she knows their office is “a target”, but said the ongoing problems are “getting ridiculous”. She said the latest vandalism took place only three weeks after the last time glass was smashed, on September 16th.
Currie said the local GOP is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call the Roseburg Police Department.
Sergeant Jeff Eichenbusch of RPD said there are no solid leads in the case.
