AIR POLLUTION ADVISORY THROUGH SATURDAY

An Air Pollution Advisory is in effect for Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, and much of southern Oregon, through Saturday.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality said wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions are causing air quality levels to fluctuate and could be at unhealthy levels at times.

A DEQ statement said pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, and can aggravate heart, lung and other serious health problems. Residents should limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky.

The Advisory area includes much of Josephine, Jackson and Klamath counties along with surrounding areas including the Southern Oregon Cascades.
