A Glendale man was jailed after allegedly trying to elude police early Tuesday morning.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 1:15 a.m. a deputy saw a man riding a dirt bike without a headlight or license plates in the Glendale area. The report said the 22-year old rider pulled into the Glendale Mini Market but fled as soon as the deputy turned on his overhead lights.
Cheyne Reusser fled southbound through town and the deputy lost sight of him after he blew through a stop sign at Molly Street and Pacific, at approximately 40 miles per hour. Reusser was later seen at the Mini Market. He resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody.
The report said the suspect said he eluded because he was riding a dirt bike on the road and knew he was not supposed to.
Reusser was charged with eluding police, reckless driving, and resisting arrest. He was released later in the day.
