A Myrtle Creek man was hurt when his vehicle hit a motel early Saturday morning.
A Roseburg Police report said at 3:00 a.m. the 61-year old was driving eastbound on Harvard and planning to get gas at the Chevron station. The report said the man missed the first entrance as he was going at approximately 35-40 miles per hour. The driver said he realized there was a second entrance and tried to turn into the business, but was traveling too fast. Due to the roadway being wet, the vehicle began to slide towards the Riverfront Inn Motel.
The vehicle struck the west side wall of the motel causing significant damage to its exterior. The driver was taken to Mercy Medical Center for minor injuries. His vehicle had to be towed from the scene. The man was cited for careless driving.
