Roseburg Police jailed a man on the charge of 4th degree felony assault, on Sunday morning.

A report said the 46-year old man and a woman were involved in a physical altercation in the 300 block of West Harvard. The suspect allegedly punched the victim in the face, causing her substantial pain and limiting her ability to open her mouth. The report said minor children were in the room and witnessed the incident.

The man was held on $10,000 bail.
