Both the Archie Creek Fire east of Glide and the Thielsen Fire near Diamond Lake, are 69-percent contained.
An update from Unified Incident Commanders Mike Dueitt and Tim Keith of the Southern Area Red Team said the Archie Creek Fire has not done much for the last few days. That could change with windier and drier weather and near record high temperatures in the forecast through Thursday. That could cause unburned pockets of live and dead vegetation, needle cast and piled logs and stumps on the fire perimeter to burn and produce smoke. With gusty east winds, firefighters are keeping an eye out for increased fire behavior within the interior of the fire and will cool any threats to fire lines. No fire growth is expected. The fire remains listed at 131,542 acres with 906 people assigned to it.
The Thielsen Fire is still at 9,971 acres, with 385 people dealing with the fire. Firefighters are pulling remaining hose and beginning suppression repair work where it is safe and secure.
