A woman was jailed and a man was cited following an alleged assault on Thursday afternoon.

Information from Roseburg Police at about 1:30 p.m. the pair were traveling the 900 block of West Harvard Avenue when a witness said they noticed blood on the man’s face and saw him grab the woman by the head and push it toward the floor board of the vehicle. During the investigation, an officer learned that the 26-year old woman had reportedly hit the 54-year old man while he was driving, and the man was allegedly trying to defend himself.

The woman was charged with fourth degree assault and detained on $6,250 bail. The man was cited for harassment and was released.
