The Thielsen Fire burning near Diamond Lake is 30 percent contained and burning in 9,971 acres.
The latest update from the U.S. Forest Service said on Wednesday firefighters continued to work around the fire area. However, some personnel had to disengage in areas where snags were present due to high winds.
Crews are working to hold and mop up along the western edge of the fire. The update said hand crews and engines are critical to holding the fire along Highway 138E in the area of Diamond Lake to protect direct threats to structures. Resources are constructing handline from Cinnamon Butte to Highway 138E and continue to identify containment opportunities along the northern edge of the fire.
493 people are working on the fire.
