NOT AS MUCH RAIN AS HAD BEEN EXPECTED FOR ROSEBURG

While it did rain in Roseburg starting late Wednesday afternoon, it was not as much precipitation as had been expected.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 1240 KQEN that the Roseburg Regional Airport recorded .24 inches of rain in the 24-hour period ending at 6:00 a.m. Thursday. About a half-inch had been anticipated.

Some outlying areas did get more rain. Sutherlin recorded .36 inches, while Glide had .50 inches. Rain is expected to continue through Saturday morning with sunshine and warmer temperatures beginning early next week.
