A Wind Advisory is in effect for central Douglas County from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said southwest winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 40 miles per hour are expected. The southern portions of the county including Azalea are forecast to be affected. The Advisory area also includes Josephine County and eastern Curry County.
Forecasters said gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Drought-stressed tree limbs could fall and a few power outages may result.
Residents should use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle, and should secure outdoor objects.
