Umpqua Strong will have a 9K, 5K and virtual event to remember those lives lost at Umpqua Community College on October 1st, 2015.

While taking place differently than in past years, organizers are seeking to raise funds for non-profits and memorial scholarships in honor of the Umpqua 9.

To follow COVID-19 guidelines, people can participate in-person this Saturday at 9:00 a.m. or can do a 9K or 5K on their own at another time. The event will begin on the path located by the concession stand at Legion Field, in Stewart Park.

There will be no water stations on the course. Water and other drinks will be available at a Dutch Bros stand in the park. Granola bars and fruit will be available as well. Participants can also bring their own water. There is no timer this year. Participants can track their time and upload it on the event’s registration page.
