MAN JAILED AFTER ALLEGED MENACING INCIDENT

A Roseburg man was jailed after an alleged menacing incident on Sunday night.

A report from Roseburg Police said around 7:15 p.m. officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Calypso. 23-year old River Hiatt reportedly threatened to strangle and stab a woman, and said he would stab anyone who responded to the home. The report said the man was very confrontational with officers and a fight ensued.

Hiatt allegedly punched one of the officers in the face and resisted arrest until officers placed him in handcuffs.

He was initially charged with menacing, harassment and for resisting arrest. Bail was set at $8,750.
