The Glide School District remains closed but meal distribution is beginning.
Superintendent Mike Narkiewicz told News Radio 1240 KQEN that said staff is returning to prepare for the start of the school year, which has been delayed due to the level of smoke in Glide from the Archie Creek Fire, burning to the east of town.
Narkiewicz said schools will reopen for grades K-12 next Monday, September 28th. He the school board will decide how to make up the days missed, when they meet next month. That will also be dependent on guidance from the Oregon Department of Education.
Breakfast and lunch meals can be picked up at these locations and times until further notice:
*Curbside at Glide High School from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
*Dixonville Market from 11:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
*Idleyld Park from 12:05 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The free meals are available Mondays through Thursdays to all children age 18 and younger. Children, parents, or guardians can pickup the meals.
