COVID-19 has claimed 5 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 525 as of Saturday.
An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 266 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 30,599. The new cases include:
*40 each in Marion and Multnomah counties
*27 in Benton County
*23 in Washington County
*22 in Malheur County
*16 in Deschutes County
*14 in Clackamas County
*13 in Jackson County
*11 in Lane County
*10 in Umatilla County
*9 in Yamhill County
*8 in Polk County
*6 each in Douglas and Jefferson counties
*4 each in Klamath and Linn counties
*3 each in Josephine and Clatsop counties
*2 in Columbia County
*1 each in Curry, Morrow and Wasco counties
The update said OHA double counted a death on September 4th that was originally reported July 24th. The duplication occurred due to an incorrectly reported date of birth. Because of this error, the number of reported deaths has been reduced by 1.
The newly reported deaths ranged in age from 72 to 97. 1 each lived in Lane, Jackson, Morrow, Marion and Multnomah counties.
