A Myrtle Creek man was jailed for online sexual corruption of a child charges, by Myrtle Creek Police on Wednesday night.
A report from the MCPD said at about 7:15 p.m. 45-year old Clarence Whitmore had allegedly agreed to meet an underage female for sex, using online communication. Officers took the suspect into custody and warrants out for his arrest were confirmed as well. During the investigation it was discovered that Whitmore had been living in Myrtle Creek for about six weeks and had not updated his sex offender registration during the required period.
Whitmore was detained for first and second degree counts of online sexual corruption of a child, for failing to register as a sex offender, and for the warrants. He was held on $110,885 bail.
