Greater Douglas United Way has established a fire relief fund.

Executive Director Bryan Trenkle said the fund was established on Thursday to help with urgent needs due to the fires raging in the county. He said 100 percent of all funds raised will stay local and will go to provide support for residents who have been displaced by the fires.

Donations can be made at www.gduway.org or by sending checks to 702 Southeast Jackson Street in Roseburg, 97470.

Trenkle said United Way will not charge any administrative expense on the fund. In under 24 hours, nearly $48,000 has been raised to aid in current efforts and to help rebuild the community.
