Due to the wildfires and evacuations in the Glide area, the Douglas County Board of Commissioners, in conjunction with Douglas County Senior Services, has closed the Glide Senior Dining Site for Thursday.

However, the rest of the senior dining sites are available for hot meal pickup. Seniors age 60 and up and their spouses are welcome. Hot meals are available Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Senior Dining Sites that are open for hot meal pickup include locations in Glendale, Reedsport, Riddle, Sutherlin, Winston and Yoncalla.

The Friendly Kitchen in Roseburg has pick-up lunch service available for seniors at the First United Methodist Church on West Harvard.

A release said Senior Services is in desperate need of more volunteers to help prepare and serve meals at the dining sites, as well as, deliver meals to homebound seniors. Call 440-3677.
