A Roseburg man was jailed for online sex crimes by Myrtle Creek Police on Monday.
Detective Kevin Taggart said at about 7:45 p.m. MCPD officers, along with assistance from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, contacted Jesse Lara, regarding an online sex crimes investigation. Taggart said during the course of that investigation, it was allegedly discovered that Lara had been communicating with an underage female online for about a week. Taggart said the suspect had talked to the female about getting married and having children. He reportedly then sent explicit narratives to the underage female regarding them having sexual contact.
The 22-year old was taken into custody and transported to the Douglas County Jail. Lara was held for luring a minor and for a parole violation. He was detained without bail. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending.
Myrtle Creek Police Department would like to know if anyone has information regarding Lara communicating with other underage females. Contact Detective Taggart at MCPD to make a report.
