A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for the Umpqua Basin, the Umpqua National Forest and surrounding areas through 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said strong gusty east winds, low relative humidity, and poor overnight recoveries along with high fire danger, will contribute to a significant spread of new and existing wildfires.
