Two people were jailed by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office early Friday.
A DCSO report said just after 1:30 a.m. a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for multiple violations, in the 100 block of Bradley Drive in Myrtle Creek. The report said the driver was slow to yield, and the female passenger bailed out on foot and went onto nearby property.
The driver, 39-year old Corey Morris, was taken into custody on a warrant. Two other deputies arrived and a K9 was deployed to begin a track. They were met with multiple people who said the woman never came on the property. The suspect was eventually spotted attempting to hide under a truck. 24-year old Amber Skurk was eventually taken into custody.
A user amount of methamphetamine was later found on the floorboard of the vehicle where the driver was sitting. Corey was initially charged with unlawful possession of meth, in addition to the warrant. He was detained on $25,000 bail. Skurk was held on multiple charges and detained on $85,000 bail.
