Most parts of Douglas County government will close on Monday, but there are some exceptions.
A release from the Board of Commissioners said offices in the courthouse and Justice Building, the Courthouse Annex in Reedsport, fairgrounds office, landfill and all transfer stations, the museum and all external county offices will be closed in observance of Labor Day.
Exceptions include:
*The Umpqua River Lighthouse in Winchester Bay, which will be open for visitors on Monday with normal business hours.
*All Douglas County operated parks, campgrounds and boat ramps will continue to be open and accessible for the entire three-day weekend.
*While the Sheriff’s Office lobby entrance will be closed on Monday, deputies, 911 communications staff and Sheriff’s Office personnel will continue to provide law enforcement protection and emergency assistance.
*The Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team, County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer, the Douglas Public Health Network staff and County Commissioners will continue to work on the COVID-19 response regardless of the holiday.
